MacBook 15.3: cannot 'view as icon' pdf attachments

Another quirk with the 15.3 iOS: how can a pdf attachment be "viewed as an icon"? It shows up as the entire document on the email.

I've tried to control/click/ "view as icon" with no success.

I'm starting to regret my MacBook Air purchase. Commands, log-ins, even simple typing on this MacBook requires several tries, it makes simple tasks impossible to execute-it isn't half as user friendly as its 10 year predecessor.

While I am at it how do I turn off the auto-correct that shadows everything I write? Resulting in typos.

Thank you!

I assume you were using Mail.app on macOS? When attaching pdf to your email, don't drag-and-drop, just click on the attachment icon (paper clip at the top of your email window) and choose your file.

Single-page PDFs will attach, whether drag and drop or via the Attachments dialog, as default document page views. This will respond to a secondary click and View as Icon. A multi-page PDF will attach as an icon by default.

You may need to review Mac User Guide - Apple Support for insight on how to use macOS Sequoia.

There is auto-correction which may disabled in the specific application settings, or a System-wide spelling settings in System Settings > Keyboard > Text Input section > Input Sources [ Edit… ] panel. There one can disable several features that you may encounter when typing.

Thank you both for your advice. I have successfully used the attachment clip (never drag/drop), then a right click for the "view as icon" option (w/my 2010 mba).

Sometimes, to easily keep a record of the document I sent, I write a memo, save it as a pdf, then attach that letter.

That letter opens up to the full document when sending (but not always). Hmmm.

You are correct: when attaching a pdf to a new email message the "view as icon" is automatic. But later when I review the message w/attachment after it's been sent: the pdf opens to the full document. No clicks or control/click will convert the pdf full doc to an icon.

Suggestions?

If you view a a sent email with multi-page PDF attachment by selecting open attachment or the Quick Look Attachment options that view will present a window with the scrollable PDF content. Otherwise the multi-page PDF remains an icon in the sent email.
