How to resolve 'validation error' when using Apple Pay on iPhone?

Try to purchase an item using Apple Pay however am receiving a “validation error” message when completing the transaction. iPhone is up to date with the latest version.

Apple pay not working - getting Tap Not Accept error This started happening about two weeks ago. None of the cards tap and I always get the same error on the terminal.
