What to do once you reach 2TB in cloud storage?

I'm trying to move 2TB of photos and videos to an external hard drive because I ran out of space. I do not have room on my Mac to download all of these photos onto the computer. Can I transfer them directly from the Photos app to the Hard Drive? I can't see how to do this. Please help!

Yes, you can export selected images from the Photos app to the external drive, by using the Export option in the File Menu.

click here ➜ Export photos, videos, slideshows, and memories on Mac - Apple Support

If your external drive is formatted as HFS+ or APFS you can move the entire PhotosLibrary.photoslibrary file to it and point the Photos app to it to keep using it.

Also, you can buy more iCloud storage if required. Up to 12TB now.

click here ➜ Buy iCloud+ or upgrade your current storage plan - Apple Support
