expired apple cash not been returned

i sent 25 dollars to my friend for gas over a week ago, but he never accepted it, so it expired. I used my debit card thru apple cash to send it to him since he didn't have cashapp. i can see where the money was deducted from my bank account and deposited into apple cash, but now that it's expired, my apple cash balance is still 0, and i never got the 25 back in my bank account. it's been over a week
