Still using Aperture and running OS 10.14.6

I bought a Lacie ex HD 14 TB which sid it was comparable with OS 10.2 and newer. The drive will not function. Says I must upgrade to 10.15. Aperture will not function on 10.5. I have 100s of Aperture libraries with 1,000s and photos and slideshows. Is there any method of getting the LaCie drive to function at 10.4.6? The Seagate/La Cie website is no help!

Will the Lacie drive not reformat to exFAT or HFS+ for you and then work with Mojave? Contact Lacie and ask them (by phone) what gives with requiring Catalina (10.15) for this drive. There must be a reason it suggested Catalina…

I view any vendor product that states it is compatible with a 22-year-old OS X version (Jaguar 10.2) or newer as a reason to look for a different product. If you can get a refund on this product do that and then look at what OWC has for external storage and confirm its compatibility with Mojave before the purchase.

Thank you for responding. The Lecie external drive is formatted to exFat. When connected to the iMac with OSX 10.4.6 the name appears without an icon. It opens but the drive doesn't copy any files/photos. Using Disk Utility I attempted to reformat the drive. It recognized the drive but the Utility would not offer that option.

I purchased the HD on ebay with an addendum of No Returns. My stupidity. When I went online to Seagate/Lacie the virtual assistant didn't field the problem well and didnt contest me to a live support person. Thus, I reached out to the Apple Support Community in hopes of finding a solution.

I appreciate your advise offered,
