Cannot connect wirelessly to Router homepage in Safari (OS 15.1.1)

I am trying to wirelessly connect from my Mac Studio Safari app to my router home page using it's router address, and when I hit enter, Safari returns the "Safari Can't Open The Page

Safari can't open the the page www.198####### because the pages address is invalid."

One answer years ago said to connect your Mac directly to the router (Cat 6 or whatever) - somehow I thought there was a way to connect wirelessly.
