Group Text Message Notifications/Alerts on iPhone

Previously, text message notification/alert om my iPhone showed the first few lines of the response. Now, as part of a group text, when I receive a response, the notification/alert on my iPhone shows the original message and not the response. How do I revert to the previous style of notification/alert? Thank you.
