Why is my iPhone not appearing for Screen Mirroring on iPad?

Greets:

I have an iPhone 16 Pro and an M1 iPad Pro 12.9". I wanted to use screen mirroring so that I can mirror my iPhone's camera screen to my iPad Pro. Both are on iOS 18.3.1.

When I selected Screen Mirroring in Control Center on my iPad, my iPhone is not on the list. This also happened when I checked on my iPhone via its Control Center.

I have verified that Airplay is enabled on both devices, as are Handoff. I resorted my devices, and still they are not responding. Also, both are on the same WI-FI network.

I could use some guidance to try and move forward and get mirroring to work; thanks!

I do not believe that iPhones support mirroring to iPads, or vice versa.

Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Use AirPlay to stream or share content from your Apple devices to your Apple TV, AirPlay-compatible smart TV, or Mac."

Continuity Camera might let you use your iPhone's camera as a Webcam for a Mac, but it doesn't appear to support using your iPhone's camera as a Webcam for an iPad.

Thanks for the reply.

Well that's a bummer; I watched a YouTube video that made it seem like Airplay talking between iPhone and iPad was possible with the built-in camera. There were some other videos that relied on third-party camera apps in order to use the iPad as a remote screen to view the image from the iPhone's camera. Fortunately, I have Filmic Pro already, but had not used it in awhile. I downloaded it on both my iPhone and my iPad. There is a remote feature that's now built into the app (there was originally a remote app, but it's now considered "legacy" for older versions of the app). It took several steps and some trial-and-error, but I got it to work.

Here's hoping that Apple can make it as easy to talk between iPhone and iPad as it does for its TV and Mac.
