I downloaded the update but something happened and I was unable to open the laptop. The Computer docs I took it to to fix were unable to rectify the issue and had to do a factory reset. Now my top toolbar on the keyboard is not showing.

If your macOS top toolbar (also known as the menu bar) isn't showing after a reinstall, it's likely because the setting to automatically hide it is enabled; to fix this, go to your Apple menu, select "System Settings", then navigate to "Desktop & Dock" and ensure the "Automatically hide and show the menu bar" option is unchecked.

That would be the Touch Bar.

thanks for the reply, however this shows the toolbar on or not on the actual screen, not the keyboard. My issue is that the long top bar on my keyboard does not highlight the features available there.
Hi, I tried using the two commands from the link above in Terminal but it said that 'No matching processes were found'. I used these two from the info - 'sudo pkill TouchBarServer;' and 'sudo killall ControlStrip.' Maybe I am entering them wrong?
