my monitor connected to my Studio periodically wakes up at night. this happens only when using a display cable. does not happen if I use an HDMI cable.

Your profile indicates you are running macOS 14 Sonoma. Try updating to macOS 15 Sequoia and test.
Monitors usually wake up when a key is pressed or a mouse is clicked. It could be you have a flaky keyboard or mouse. Just a thought.
It may also be the computer walking itself up. When not shut down, the computer will periodically turn itself on temporarily to run system tasks (though I’ve never seen this wake up the monitor)
thanks. I'm using logitech mx master keyboard and mouse. maybe they're causing the problem. but i have two monitors. the hdmi does not wake up. the desplay cable monitor wake up.
If you are using the sleep function then do not. It can cause various issues. Try just having the display turn off and test.
