can i run os 14.7 on a new mac mini
Looking at “freezing a machine in time” os 14.7….so I have a back up to run Finale 27
A new Apple M4 Mac mini ships with macOS Sequoia 15.* and one cannot install a version of macOS (e.g. Sonoma) earlier than what shipped on the new Mac.
If you have 32 GB or more of RAM in that M4 mini, you can run Parallels v20.2.2 (subscription) or later and build a macOS Sonoma (14.*) guest with adequate CPU, RAM, and storage configuration. My Parallels guests are on an external Crucial X8 (1050 MB/s) SSD connected to my Thunderbolt 4 port with a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable.
