Move to Trash moves a file or folder to a temporary location (Trash folder) where you can decide if you want to disgard it or retrieve it later. Delete permanently removes a file immediately.
An analogy, "Move to Trash" is analogous to throwing items into your garbage can. You can put it out to be collected or remove an item if you change your mind. "Delete" is like throwing it in an incinerator.
