How do I enable the Command key on a Mac mini running macOS Sonoma?

I try to press cmd + p to print an image but when I try the command key it does not function


the button presses on the keyboard, but there is no output on the Mac

Hello bluesaphirre,


Check that the command key is working properly by, for instance, doing a copy/paste (command + C, command + V). Try also to use the second command key on your keyboard (there are 2 of them, one on each side of the pacer).

In addition to what 6x6 has said:


1) check that the modifier keys are set to act as themselves: in System Settings->Keyboard, click "Keyboard Shortcuts", then click "Modifier Keys":


2) In System Settings->Desktop & Dock, at the bottom, under Mission Control, click Shortcuts... and make sure that the key you are using (either the Left Command or Right Command key) is not set as a shortcut for any of the options there.
