Why does Mail app keep asking for Outlook account password on iPad Pro?

It's a Microsoft Outlook problem. MS knows about it.

This happened on iPhone a while back so went through the password change, updating it and checking it on all devices. Things seemed fine until out of the blue yesterday I got the password prompt. I entered pw, got authenticator request, approved it and sure enough got a send pw request, entered again, approved again, shortly after got a third and just canceled it and so far so good. It’s absurd really how difficult the 3 biggies of apple, ms, and google make things by refusing to cooperate for the benefit of all users.

Same here. iPad and iPhone. Third time now in three days on private and work exchange accounts. Latest software. It started right after I installed Signal app on both devices. Do not know whether this is correlated.

Follow up, it appeared again, one day later, 2x. I cancelled both. I got fed up when this was a routine in the past so I installed outlook just for that one email address that I use for ms and backup acct recovery. I deleted the outlook acct from mail, but decided to reinstall in mail on my iPhone just to see if ms can play nice. It seems happy for quite a while until this recent tantrum.

exchange account gives the following message that wants to renter passed AND

says the following;

Settings wants to use “Windows.net” to signin

This allows the app and website to share information about you.

Does this means exchange accounts and outlook have access to my personal/privacy via Windows.net privacy info

Same for me. I changed nothing literally ten minutes later email won’t update and keeps asking for password. You said it fixed itself?

Same here, but I didn't re-enter my password as I didn't know if this was legit and happening to anyone else.

Same for me with Microsoft work account 🤦🏻

It also happens on my end. I just input my password again and it works for a few days.

was this caused by the last MS update?
