Running Logic Pro from an external hard disk(SSD).

Is it just a case of copying Logic Pro from the applications folder and pasting it to the external drive and then deleting Logic from the internal drive?

Also, will all of the project and audio files be automatically stored to the external drive?

Is 2GB read and write speeds be ok for this?

Although I'm on a 2019 iMac, I have a Mac mini M4 arriving tomorrow. I'm using a Crucial X10 as a system drive on my iMac and it's much faster than when I was on the Fusion Drive. That drive is 2gbs read and write.

Many thanks.

Let Logic run on the internal disk, store the library on your SSD. This way avoids all manner of difficulties.

Indeed they will - this arrangement with a fast external SSD and leaving the logic application on the external drive allows for a lot of future scalability.

the only other thing I’d add is to make sure you backup your projects if you don’t already.

cheers
