How do I automatically save print screen to a folder on iMac?

Hello, I previous had the 2017 27inch Imac and upgrade to a new version 2024 :-)

Now my hobby is genealogy, and I make a substancial printscreens of acts a day.

Now on the previous model I had a 1 terra drive now 512Giga

That caused a lot of problem in which I had to place many things on a external drive/ drives :-)

Now if you make a printscreen it comes on your desktop.automatically

Is there and option that I have a folder on my desktop where these printscreens automatically come.

If there a few thousand I replace then normaly.

In that folder I could easely find the back to rename, resize, color etc..

On the previous mac. I had fixed it somehow.

But I cannot remember it :-(

Anyone has any ideas :-)

Thanks and kind regards

Werner

In the Finder, press shift+cmd+5 to open the Screen Capture tool. Under its options menu, there is Other location for you to define where you want screenshots to be saved. Use the escape key to dismiss the screen capture tool.
