How can I reset MacBook Pro without access to old Gmail account in Find My?

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro I am trying to erase to set up for my sister. I bought the MacBook new, used a gmail email account but they swapped my apple account over to my iCloud email.

I now no longer have access to that email but when trying to erase/reset the MacBook Find My is asking me for the Password for the gmail account to remove it but I can't remember the password and I can't access the email to do a password reset. Is there anything I can do or is the MacBook stuck to this old gmail account.

Ta

I also get an error that if I try to use that email to reset a password I get an error saying that the account is not supported or can't be found. So far as I can see it is not on Apples servers that email but the MacBook is stuck unable to get past the point it's at.

Just curious: Who is “They”? If someone else changed this, then you should probable return it, or have them troubleshoot it.
