I want to us the spacebar for "space: in text. It isnt working, why why why. I have tried some advice to get it working again. But this is really an annoying issue. Please advise.

You can try cleaning the keyboard using the instructions in the following Apple article (make sure to keep the can of compressed air completely upright or you will damage the laptop with the cold wet propellant):

If that doesn't help, then you will need to have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate.
In the mean time you can use an external keyboard.

Make sure you have Full Keyboard Access turned OFF in your Accessibilty settings
Its not the keyboard in the physical sense as I have both laptop and external, thanks though.
