consolidating someone People in Photos with multiple names tags including email tags

Photos pulls names from several places, emails, contacts, calendars, etc. When I start to type my wife's name, several choices pop up, as well. I try to always choose the same one. If I accidentally use the wrong one, then I get a new album for her! Then in People, I drag that Wife#2 album over to the Wive#1 album and merge them.

I may not be understanding. I might label one using lucy@email and another using Lucy, but then I get two people albums. If I drag one over the other, then they will merge-- and I can either use what's there or change the name to whatever I like. I just tried this with my daughter who has several different contacts, and it seemed to work just fine.

You are taking about pictures in Photos, right? What is not working for you, exactly?
