Glitch on magic keyboards?

Hi All,

I have a magic keyboard with number pad. I believe it's the previous generation.

I've had this probably over 5 years it has worked flawlessly and charged it less than a handful of times. I love it! However, I've had a few recent issues where when I type, instead of outputting letters, it does other functions like showing notifications, opening other windows or apps, etc.

Initially, I thought I intentionally pressed a function key but I checked settings and there is nothing showing that is the case, so it seems to be a glitch.

I've found a few solutions: Doing a deep clean of the keys and also doing a hard reset of the keyboard where I turn it off and shut off bluetooth, then press all the keys. After this procedure it is back to working flawlessly.

Is there a more permanent solution or is this a sign my keyboard's life is gradually coming to a close? :-(
