Blocking Amazon from appearing in search results

Hello there, I am wondering if someone can help me.

Everytime I search for something that is a product my search results are full of amazon links and not much else, pages and pages of amazon.

Is there a way to block amazon appearing as a result in my searches?

I don't use amazon for many reasons, but would also like to see what else is out there.

So many small business to support, or blogs who have good information, and yet all I see is amazon.

Help please, if you can.

Thank you

Anita

Yes, mostly. You can customize search results to omit Amazon.com using the following syntax:

<search_term> -site:Amazon.com

Example, without excluding Amazon.com

Example, excluding Amazon.com

The first hit appears to ignore that exclusion, but it is an advertisement (indicated by the word "AD" in a box). Even DDG needs to earn revenue from someplace. However, the remainder of the search results will achieve what you seek.

You can improve upon those results somewhat by excluding Amazon.* which will also exclude Amazon's non-US websites (Amazon.ca, etc).
