strange repeating manipulated numbers across apps and on my Mac

hello,

I think this might be a common but nonetheless frustrating issue with my (brand new!!) Mac.

Across gmail, Logic Pro, and generally online on all sites, I am continually targeted to see only specific repeating numbers which include an old address, birth year, or old area code. It feels as if the numbers are trying to 'carrall' me or manipulate me into seeing my reality a specific way, I'm not sure how else to put it.

I'm not sure if I have malware on my device (I don't think so) and I have no idea why these numbers are constantly appearing. for example, the number of emails in my inbox always just "happens" to be a certain area code, or my birth year. EVEN THOUGH when I actually count the number of emails, the total is NOT the number(s) displayed !! It is like false information.

can ANYONE PLEASE explain this to me?? I am feeling especially tracked and traced and just want to know why, thanks!

It's possible that you have malware on the computer. It happens. If you'd like to run a scan, many here recommend the Malwarebytes app. The free versions is probably all you need to check for yourself.

As far as I'm know, numbers are just numbers and coincidence is a funny thing.

You can change the email count that is displayed on the Mail icon in the Dock by going to Mail > Settings... > General and changing the "Dock unread count:" to Inbox Only.
