I have Pixelmator and recently purchased Apple Photomator. When editing a photo in iPhoto there are 3 dots to go to other editing apps. My Pixelmator is there but not Photomator. I think the Photomator should also be a selection on the 3 dots in iPhoto. How can you add the new Photomator app to the edit selection dropdown?

Does Photomator appear in Image>Edit with… ? That's the most common method of connecting an external editor.
As for the other method, in Photos>Edit>(•••)>Manage go to Photos and see if Photomator is listed. This may be a choice of the Photomator, and you may need to talk to them.
Yes under Image Edit in iPhoto... Photomator is an option. But if you edit in iPhoto and try to use the ... edit link, Photomator is not there. You are probably right and this should be reported to Apple which now owns Photomator.
