MacBook Air not accepting correct password

Hi, I have a macbook air and i’ve only had it for a month or two. However i’ve turned it on today and the password isn’t working which i know is 100% correct. However what’s strange is I don’t have a password input limit. And when I put a password in it’s not actually processing it when I click enter. My lock screen has no wifi, bluetooth or connection and no settings to help me fix this or reset my password. I’ve also tried using reset commands when turning it on and off but it wont work. I’ve also tried resetting it altogether and still nothing. If anyone could help i’d be very grateful thankyou!

Did you purchase this Mac new directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller?

You may think so, but your Mac certainly does not. Ref: If you forgot your Mac login password - Apple Support

Which exact password are you referring to:

  • Firmware password?
  • User account login password? If so, are you using your Apple Account to log in?
  • Some other password?
