How can I improve Synology NAS photos and videos to iCloud upload speeds?

As I migrate all my photos / videos from my Synology NAS using my Macbook Pro using the Photos app as the upload point, it is just taking too long to upload via Macbook Pro's Photo App.

Used the 'import function' in the Photos app
2Gbps connection with 1Gbps upload
i7 Macbook Pro
2TB iCloud capacity
170gb of content = 6000 videos + 53000 photos
I am getting an average of 500 to 600 items a day uploaded to iCloud. At this rate, I'll need 3 months

What do I do to get a better iCloud upload speeds?

A few months ago, I moved all my files to iCloud Drive, including about 1000 photos with approximately 1 GB. My internet has 500 Mbs download and 50 Mbs upload. The photos uploaded took about 24 hours. The other files were fast. I think Apple limits the upload of photos for some reason. I recommend looking for another app to sync photos. I hope this helps.

The initial upload can take a long time. Still, you should see more than 500 a day. There used to be throttles on the old photo stream which may be applicable (don’t really know) but those were in the thousands. If memory serves, my library of 50,000 images and videos took about a week

Okay. So the Photos app does not update its count in real time, and I assumed it had stalled. But I am getting about 5000+ items a day. Some relief here. Tks

Completed the upload in about 12 days of overnight runs for about 200gb of pics and videos.
