Phone is asking for my password for mail account. I try to re enter password in settings it wants to use Microsoftonline.com if I cancel I still cant enter password. If I continue it requires set up microsoft authenticator app additional security. Account error in outlook emails. Icloud email and gmail okay.

Troubleshooting iPhone Mail:
Got the same message yesterday, but all stayed working. A bit strange.
Create and Use an App Password:
Note that you would need a new App Password, being that Mail is a third party app. You cannot log in using your eMail address password. As an example, go here for Hotmail: Manage app passwords for two-step verification - Microsoft Help

Microsoft has been having problems with their services for several days.
So far, the easiest way to fix it is to delete the account from the device and re-add it.

Got it just now. So, I changed the app password, and all is back to normal.
Most of us with Microsoft Exchange accounts had to go through this today as they had a major outage this past weekend. All I had to do was enter the correct password to my exchange account. If your account is a work account, you may need to ask your company IT administrator for help.
