"cannot view invite The invite cannot be viewed from this account." message with family transfer

Has anyone found a resolution to the "cannot view invite The invite cannot be viewed from this account" message after trying to accept your child to leave your family and join another family account? I've tried apple support and they weren't able to figure it out. For the context. I sent the invite via my husbands account to add family member -> join in person-> signed into our sons account where we then went and did all the parental controls and it would then show -> pending on my husbands phone. I went to my mail app on my ipad where I have this 1 account (it's not on any other apple device) but when I click on the email "Allow (sons name) to leave your family and join (husbands name) family? If you approve, (sons name) will be transferred to (husbands name) family group. learn more. with the blue link button that says "view request" it then takes me to my setting where the "cannot view invite The invite cannot be viewed from this account" message pop up. How did you fix it?
