HomePod mini (18W) USB-C charger

I have a question about charging my HomePod mini. I understand that it typically requires a 20W power adapter (9V/2.22A) for optimal performance. However, with the release of the 14.3 software update, the HomePod mini now supports certain 18W chargers.

I noticed that your Comfort (18W) USB-C charger is designed for flush-mounted installation and supports fast charging with Power Delivery.  Could you please confirm if your 18W USB-C charger is compatible with the HomePod mini?

Is it bad for the HomePod if it pulses orange?

No, but it won't be working as a HomePod while you don't have it connected to the correct supply. From Identify status lights on HomePod and HomePod mini - Apple Support:

If an orange light shines on and off repeatedly on the top of HomePod mini, then HomePod mini is connected to a computer, or is plugged into a power adapter that isn’t rated 20W (9V ⎓ 2.22A).
Plug your HomePod mini into power using a 20W (9V ⎓ 2.22A) adapter.
