issues connecting to local network since update (Sequoia 15.3.1)

Hello,

Since updating to Sequoia 15.3.1 last week I have been unable to connect to my local network (on local Wi-Fi).

I am unable to connect to my local server and I cannot find or connect to any printers on the network - in the default tab, none show up, and when I enter the IP address instead I get the error message "Unable to communicate with Printer at this time". None of my colleagues' MacBooks have this issue and I can't see any obvious settings that are different.

Speaking of local servers - even before updating, I could connect to my local server, but all the files were "read-only" and whenever I tried to save anything, my Macbook would freeze and need force restarting.

Any ideas how I could try to fix this and get access to my files and printers? I unchecked "Limit IP address tracking" and have Firewall disabled.

Totally lost and in need of a tech hero!

Thanks,

Soph

Let's start with is this local network a home network or a business/educational institution's network? Similarly, is this your personal Mac laptop or belongs to one of those institutions?

Regardless, what have you tried, so far yourself, to resolve this so that we don't offer potential solutions that may not have already worked for you?

For example, have you tried any of the following to see if you can successfully access your local network:

  • Booted up your Mac in Safe Mode?
  • Created a new user account; logged in with this account?
  • Using an adapter, connect to the network by Ethernet?
  • If using a VPN, disable it?
  • If the Mac is configured to use a Proxy server, disable it?
