Mail doesn’t show notifications on my Lock Screen

I have it set to show banners on my Lock Screen. But it doesn’t work. It makes a sound and when I pick up the phone to look at it, nothing is there.

I just turned banners on to see if that did anything, and sure enough, banners show, but the Lock Screen is empty
