Can I use ethernet 10Base-T on iMac L-2015 27" to OLD Tektronics printer?

I want to use an old Tektronics Phaser 780 color laser TABLOID size printer that has STANDARD BUILT-IN TBase-T networking built in, the only network interface. I'm usually confused by networking/protocols.

I'm using at iMac 2015 27" 24Gb RAM, running OS 12.7.6.

Is it possible to print to this?

If yes, can I run an ethernet cable right from iMac to Phaser printer?

iMac 27″, macOS 12.7

You would connect the printer to the network router via its own ethernet port, and then the Mac should be able find the printer through System Settings ➜ Printers & Scanners.

Connecting it directly will not result in a working connection as generally the Mac won't make a network and won't give out an IP to the printer.

Also, since it is an old printer, appropriate macOS drivers may not be immediately available. However, the specifications indicate that the Phaser 780 is a postscript printer, so you could perhaps try a generic macOS postscript driver instead.

From the article Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK:

Add a network printer by specifying its IP address -> Use ->

"You can also try choosing generic postscript or PCL printer software from the pop-up menu depending on your type of printer."
