Not sure what you mean by “black box”. Are you getting a message on your iPhone? If so, provide a screenshot of it. IMPORTANT: Blockout personal information(i.e. names and time) by coving it with red-colored rectangles and such through use of the Photos app.

It’s called the Dynamic Island

“It wasn't that important. The box is actually a flattened oval at the top of the portrait orientation of my screen. It had an orange dot in it. I rebooted my phone and it went away.”
