I would like to edit raw photos on my MacBook Air in iPhoto

Hello,

I have tried to follow the information given by apple to open raw files for editing. They make it sound simple so I must be missing something.

  1. Go to the Photos app  on your Mac.
  2. Double-click a photo to open it, then click the Edit button in the toolbar.
  3. Choose Image > Reprocess RAW.


This does not work for the Reprocess Raw will not open. (it is a grey colour not white)

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Reprocess Raws is for updating a raw file if you have installed a new version of the RAW engine. Actually, it is hardly ever used anymore. It used to be that Apple would occasionally update the RAW engines. After that happened you had the option of keeping the old engine or updating to the new one on any particular file. Reprocess Raws would let you switch to the new version. Now Apple does not update old versions, they just add new cameras, slooowly.


Just use the regular editing tools, you are then editing the RAW.
