long notes cut off in Logic Pro 11

I am a new user of Logic Pro (11.1.2) on a Mac Studio running Mac OS15.3.1.

For a reason I don't understand, long notes at the end of a sung line fade out abruptly mid-note. The waveform also dies half-way through the long note.

For instance, if the singer sings: "I want to break free-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee." The waveform (and consequently the recording) presents as: "I want to break fre|."

I suspect there is a setting in Logic that I'm overlooking, and I don't have enough knowledge yet to know where to look to fix it.
