Yes, you will need to upgrade to a newer Mac as yours is limited to macOS Monterey.

Alternately, you still have a few other options:

• Use Apple's equivalent "Office" apps.
• Use a third party solution. Some examples are: Google Workspace and LibreOffice
• Try using Microsoft 365's online version. With this version, it's not fully dependent on the version of macOS your Mac is running, but what version of web browser you are using.
