Notes on MacBook won’t let me scroll using mouse while selecting text

Hi I am trying to select a huge group of text on Notes in the MacBook with a mouse by holding down left click and scrolling down the page with the wheel and it won’t work. The moment I release the left mouse button it “catches up” to how much I scrolled, so detects when I’m scrolling normally just when I’m holding down left mouse button it won’t scroll.

I swear it was working just a few hours ago so I know it is a function but now it doesn’t and it’s driving me nuts.

I have already turned my Mac on and off, reset, closed and open notes, turned off my Logitech s Mission Control from the third party app, disconnected and reconnected and turned on and off my mouse, tested selected text while scrolling on other apps and it works.

So it is not my mouse’s problem, an exclusively Notes app problem on MacBook. How do I fix this??

I write so much on there I don’t want to switch to a third party app.
