How do I attach a previous text message on iPhone running iOS 18.3.1?

I want to learn how to attach a text msg to a new one. The previous msg is grayed out but can still be opened. I have iOS 18.3.1 but can’t find any info that matches my display. I don’t understand most of the vocabulary you people use to explain anything. Can you help me?
