MacBook Pro keeps getting the time wrong.

This has started quite recently - some times it it seems to freeze itself in time and it will show the day before's date and a random time. I can clear it by clicking off the automatic time update and then clicking it back on but it is a bit annoying to put it mildly. Anybody know how to fix it permanently

Thanks in advance

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

then Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

still no resolve you can try from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this will remove the corrupt plist.

(note—your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed. Quit Terminal.)

Reboot and compare your results.

If you still have a problem I would consider re-installing the macOS on top of you existing macOS
