Yes, that would do it! This AirTag is now Activation Locked.

If you still have access to your original Apple Account (aka, Apple ID), you will need to use it to remove this tag from it BEFORE it can be used with your new account. If you no longer have access to that original account, then this tag will be useless to you. No amount of resetting it will work.

Why do you need to reconnect the AirTag? Was it because you simply replaced it batteries, or did you "forget" it, from Find My, to disassociate from your Apple Account?
