Need a little more info here.
How are you trying to cancel the subscription? Presumably via Settings -> Apple Account -> Subscriptions?
What happens when you try? Do you get an error message of any kind?
What makes you think the subscription didn't cancel?
Bear in mind that when you cancel a subscription, you're really cancelling the next renewal. Your subscription will stay active until that point - for example, if it's a monthly subscription that renews on the 1st of each month, then on March 1st you pay for the entire month of March. If you cancel on March 5th then you're free to continue using the app/service until March 31st (since you already paid for that month), and your subscription will end on April 1st.
