Here are some of the reasons why this may be happening:

  • Some websites automatically try to push users to download their app instead of allowing login through a browser, especially if they detect that you’re on an unsupported browser.
  • If your browser is not fully compatible with Lumosity’s website or if certain settings/extensions are interfering, it could trigger this behavior.
  • Some browser settings can block certain elements from loading properly, causing odd behavior like redirecting to a download.
  • Stored website data may be causing the login function to misfire.
  • User Agent Detection: The website might be incorrectly detecting your device and assuming you need to download an app.

Ok, so now you know, what can you do about it?

  • If you're using Safari, try opening Lumosity in Chrome or Firefox and see if the login works normally.
  • Open a private browsing window (Cmd + Shift + N in Chrome, Cmd + Shift + P in Firefox) and try logging in.
  • Browser extensions (like ad blockers or privacy tools) can interfere with website scripts. Try disabling them temporarily. Start by disabling all of them, and add them back one-by-one to see which one may be trigging this error.
  • Clear your web browser's cache and cookies.
  • Check the browser's downloads setting. For Safari: Settings > Websites > Downloads and check if Lumosity is listed. Set it to "Ask" or "Deny" as needed.
  • Finally, be sure that you are using the most updated version of your web browsesr.

Sorry, but that is just not enough information in order for us to be able to assist you with a potential solution.

For example, what "login" are you referring to? What exactly have you tried, so far yourself, to resolve this so that we don't offer potential solutions that may not have already worked for you? We only know what you provide us in your post. In this case, not very much to work with.
