How to reset iPad Apple ID password without iPod password?

guys, I need help ASAP. I have this iPad from many years ago and I forget what the Apple ID password is. Every time I go to reset the password it is asking for my old iPod password. I no longer have this iPod and haven’t for years. I have also tried going through the iforgot.apple.com way to reset the password, but it still asked for my iPod password and will not let me do it any other way. I need this password to reset this iPad. Please help!
