How to adjust battery charge limit on iPad?

I recently found out that iPhones shouldn’t be charged to 100% so you can set a charge limit for iPhones 15 and newer. Settings>Battery>Charge, there you can set a limit but it must be charged to 100% first to set the limit. Our iPads has it by a default of 80%and so far I’m unable to find a way to adjust it. But maybe there’s a method to their devices.

There is simply NOTHING wrong with charging your iPhone or iPad to 100%. I repeat, there is nothing wrong charging your device to 100%. I don't use the Charge Limit and I don't personally believe it will extend the life of the battery. Battery Health will decline whether you charge to 80%, 85%, 90% or 100%. Every time you charge your battery, its health declines a little. That can't be stopped. What can reduce the life of your battery faster, is letting it fully discharge or regularly letting it run below 20%. If you do use the Charge Limit setting on your iPhone, it will still occasionally charge to 100% as it's designed to do that. I mentioned, I'm not using the Charge Limit setting. I've owned my iPhone 16 Pro Max since launch day in September. My Battery Health is still 100% and I charge my iPhone all night, every night to 100%, so I have a full days charge when I wake. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't use the Charge Limit. But to me and many other veteran members on this forum, think its more gimmicky and won't really save your battery much, if at all. We do almost all universally recommend Optimized Battery Charging.

Only a few iPads are capable of having a Charge Limit set. iPad Pro M4 and iPad Air M2 or newer are capable. Previous models are not capable of using a Charge Limit.

I'm not sure what you are asking about in terms of warranty as your subject says "Battery Warranty?"

And yet, iPhone users have been charging their iPhones to 100% for 15+ years with no problems.

Not correct. The battery was already charged to 100% during the manufacturing process.

Here is a fact that surprises many users.......even though you might have a charge limit of 80% on your iPads, the battery will still charge to 100% "occasionally". You have no control over this. The only real question is how often "occasionally" might be.

When I tried Charge Limits, I found that "occasionally" could be as much as 3-4 times a month. Some users report less and some report even more. Here is the quote from the Apple Support document on battery performance. I added the red border to make the text more visible, since it is much smaller text and much lighter text than the rest of the document:

My opinion......Charge Limits are more of a gimmick than anything else, but that might be another discussion.
