How do I make a song my ringtone?

I’ve purchased the “tone” aka song I want to use as a ring tone on the iTunes Store and it isn’t popping up in my list of options. I’ve been trying for over an hour to make “abolish the irs” by Ptasinski & Rj Pasin my ring tone with no luck. Please help 🤣

If you bought an actual song, that won't work as a ringtone. In the iTunes Store, there are songs and then there is the iTunes Tones Store. A ringtone must be no more than 30 seconds. Now, you could use something like Garage Band to trim the song to 30 seconds or the simplest, most hassle free thing to do would be to buy the Ringtone version of the song. They cost about $1.
