Mouse cursor freezing on screen on 2024 MacBook Pro

I purchased a new 2024 MacBook Pro with Apple M4 Max chip. The mouse cursor for my wired MacAlly mouse freezes on the screen occasionally. It starts moving again after unplugging and re-plugging the connector to the USB port. Any solutions? I reinstalled the operating system but the problem persists. I also tried different MacAlly mice but they all have the same problem. Thanks.

I would think it is more of your third party mouse issue, not macOS

compare your built in trackpad... seem this would be telling(?)

maybe a firmware update for your "wired MacAlly mouse " or some such...

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

The resolve would be use a different third party mouse that is compatible...

ex. Magic Mouse (USB‑C) - White Multi-Touch Surface

Set up your Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or ...

Thanks for the info. I had emailed the mouse tech support a week ago with no response. I prefer the MacAlly mouse since it is light and ergonomic.

Ok—

I'd be interested in what your preferred "MacAlly mouse" has to say... if they respond to your query.

good luck !

I spoke to MacAlly tech support, they said they are aware of the issue and working on developing new wiring for the mouse. They told me to call back in 3 months and they will do a free swap for the mouse.

Good computing Thinker19 —sounds like you are on the right track now.
