Why does my Apple Watch screen turn on at night despite Do Not Disturb and Theatre mode?

My Apple Watch will present me with a blazing bright screen informing me of my workout status when I move my arm late at night when I am trying to sleep. This is despite my turning off virtually all notifications…disabling all functions like the workout tracker which I do not want AND manually activating do not disturb (purple moon) AND theatre mode AND the red silence bell. In addition, I have a sleep tracking window which is the only reason I purchased the watch. I have chronic sleep issues and need to track my sleep so it is critical for me TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS…It is bright enough it is also disturbing my poor husband who was awakened last night with the watch glaring in his face. As he is the one who bought it for me as a gift, he is certainly regretting his purchase.

The reason I go to the lengths described above to silence these unwanted and punishing reminders is that the first night I owned the watch it haptic alerted me to stand up at three in the morning despite the fact that I had not requested this function and actively don’t want it. This is all exceedingly annoying to the point of seeming abusive…that one can purchase a device that is supposed to track one’s sleep only to find it waking one up during that cycle for unnecessary reasons. I do not want it to track my workouts!!! Definitely not when I am sleeping. Then I look on this forum only to find that others are having the same issues. I am losing patience and am about to seek out an alternative like the ring that only tracks sleep.

Like everything with tech these days, rather than design an item to provide customers with what they need, these design teams justify their existence by constantly changing and adding an almost ridiculous level of supposed functionality so that nothing works. Further it becomes impossible to use the item without an immense effort something the exhausted public do not have time for. Super unhappy with my latest Apple experience. At least it is tracking my sleep somewhat. It is also simultaneously destroying my sleep which is something I cannot afford.

🤔🥺😫🤯

On my iPhone in Settings/Focus/Sleep Focus/Allow Notifications, no Apps are allowed, only notifications/calls from certain people.

Also make sure, that in Customise Screens/Options/ Sleep Screen is enabled, which will switch to a dark screen during your sleep schedule.
