How do I fix sudden internet connection loss on MacBook Pro?

All of a sudden internet won’t connect on MacBook Pro-is a system update error?

Restart the Wi-Fi (or wired) router, if it’s yours. Restart the Mac, too.


If you have any “coffee shop” VPNs installed, or any add-on anti-malware or add-on anti-virus or add-on network firewall or add-on security apps, remove all per the vendors’ instructions, restart, and test again.


Try connecting the MacBook Pro to a different Wi-Fi (or wired) network as well, and test there.


If you’re running macOS 15.1 as per the footer and can get to a better connection (wired or otherwise), I’d suggest an update to macOS 15.3.1.
