Subject: Issue with Temporary Audio Output on Apple TV

I am using an Apple TV 4K with an HDMI output connected to the HDMI input of an AVR, and the AVR’s eARC output connected to an LG C4 77" TV. The system functions well.

However, when I attempt to add a Temporary Audio Output via AirPlay to a Sonos Amp, the connection frequently drops and is unstable. Could you provide recommendations on how to resolve this issue?

Additionally, is Temporary Audio Output truly temporary, or is there a way to set it as a persistent output?

To use the Sonos as default audio, don’t use the temporary audio output setting (AirPlay or Bluetooth), but instead use a wired connection, preferably over HDMI. Set Apple TV to use the TV for audio output, and set the TV to output any audio to the Sonos. Note that audio AirPlay to third party audio systems uses the stereo source, not the surround sound or Dolby Atmos track — the latter needs HDMI.

Temporary Audio Output will be forgotten after the temporary use. It is meant to not be persistent.

The only supported default AirPlay audio connection is to Apple HomePod speakers.
