LCD screen displays lines on my 2017 MacBook Pro 13 in.
I was told the screen has a crack, but I don’t see it. The screen is all black except for the vertical lines. Cannot do anything on the computer. What does that mean?

As a work-around when the built-in screen does not light up due to probelms in the display itself, Your MacBook Pro 2017 model can support up to TWO external displays. Your TV set could also be pressed into service as a display.

Who told you the screen was cracked?
If that is an accurate assessment, then it means you need to have the computer repaired if you want to keep using it.

The best way to transfer all your files will be to use an external drive and Time Machine to back up your stuff to that.
When you buy your new Mac make sure to get one with equal or greater storage. That way you can transfer your files from the backup drive to the new Mac when you set it up for the first time.
I went to Apple Store, because of the black screen and lines. They said there was a crack. I did not see a crack. But the LED is shot. I want to know if that’s the case, can I transfer everything on that computer to a new one I will get?

You are not asking Apple employees here but other end users. We cannot give you an official answer regarding what Apple can/will do in-store for set-up help. Contact the store you plan to use to see if they can do set-up assists.
I know. They will help me set up and transfer from one to the other. At the time I made that appt, I don’t think they realized that my comp went dark. So, I am asking someone, if it can be done when the computer is broken?
Went to Apple Store, the technician told me that. I also know the internal battery is just about done. Have to keep computer plugged in all the time. It’s a 2017 13 in MacBook Pro.
