Macbook m2 air won't connect to 5G wifi AFTER 15.3.1 update!
Hello everyone,
I reinstalled macOS on my MacBook, and before the update, I was able to connect to my 5GHz hotspot.
Then, macOS prompted me to upgrade to version 15.3.1, and it remained connected to my 5GHz hotspot.
However, just as the 15.3.1 update began installing—and right before my MacBook turned off to continue the installation—it disconnected from my 5GHz hotspot. After the update was installed, my MacBook can no longer find any 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Is this a new "feature" to force users to buy new products?
- I also noticed that I was able to switch my hotspot to a 5GHz network during the macOS reinstallation. Until then, it had always been connected to 2.4GHz. So, during the installation, I canceled it, switched my hotspot to 5GHz, and restarted the reinstallation. This upgrade significantly increased my download speed—from 25-30 Mbps to 150-200 Mbps (as tested in Safari on the setup options page).
